About Us

FTC Team #25707 Solar Flare is a 1st-year robotics team competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Solar Flare comprises dedicated freshmen & middle schoolers in high school and competes in the NY-Excelsior region. Through our work, we hope to innovate in STEM fields as well as inspire others to learn more about STEM.

What is FIRST?

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a nonprofit organization whose ultimate goal is to expose younger students to the wonder of STEM. Through the FIRST program, students develop skills such as teamwork, leadership, and innovation in 3 different robotics programs, FLL (FIRST Lego League), FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge), and FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition).
